After the success of 'Maayi' , 'Rishi' would boost up the image of Sarathkumar
further. Sunder.C is very particular in deriving the same
delight from this film as he has obtained from the birth of his first
child. This film is expected to increase the influence and wealth of
producer Panju Arunachalam who is in financial straits at the present
moment. Kodambakkam has many rumours to float about the story. It is said that the stories of 'Rishi' and 'Citizen' are similar. But it is sure that Sunder.C would not make a film on serious lines. His wont is to tell a story in lighter veins. Sarath plays two roles as Rishi and Velu. Both the characters are young men. Meena mistakes Sarath for a rich man, falls in love with him and gets disappointed. At first, the film has 'Ramajayam' as it's title. But it was changed subsequently as 'Rishi'. Why is the name 'Rishi'? Sunder.C explains: 'Rishi' means a pure soul a straight forward person. Hence the title as 'Rishi'. For the first time, Sunder.C is going to take an action-oriented movie. So far, eight stunt sequences have been filmed for this picture. There are two parallel stories in the picture. The theme of the film lays stress on the importance of friendship and in the annihilation of undesirable elements. As usual, Sunder.C had gone to switzerland to picturise the song-dance sequences. Let us wait and see how far this action-plus-comedy picture of him is going to succeed. |
