Director Dharani has already directed a film, 'Ethirum Puthirum'. "The story revolves around a brave hero. 'Dhil' means courage. Therefore we have given the title 'Dhil' to the film, he explains.

As per the story, Vikram is a youth who longs to join the police force. But he has to surmount many hurdles on his way towards achieving his cherished goal. Meeting with an accident he is crippled and needs the help of a support to walk. Luckily, a God-send comes his way in the shape of a police officer with a helping tendency. Vikram makes the best of the situation. He ends with a triumphant note duly jumping over all obstacles and stumbling blocks that lay on his way. With courage and faith he accomplishes his aim, at last.

Hero Vikram is a satisfied person. He says, "All of us have worked in unison with a oneness of opinion in this film.

The film has come out very well. Certainly, team work has paid off. Though 'Sethu' cannot be matched by any other film, this film is sure to win the hearts of the movie-lovers"

Vikram has strained his nerves a lot for this film also. He has resorted to do various physical exercises to trim his body. He has reduced his weight considerably with the intake of juice alone. He had a close crop hair-cut in the fashion of a lad who undergoes police training. In all, we see a different Vikram in this movie.

Laila is the sweetheart of Vikram. She has given a zealous performance by rendering a scintillating dance number in the song sequences.

Director Dharani is of the opinion that the Comedy of Vivek in this film, would receive a rave reception from the fans as it had done in 'Minnale'.

Vidyasagar has set the music. He has produced some beautiful songs as is his want. The songs have been written by new lyricists. Among these songs, 'Machchaan Meesai' is sure to capture the taste of youngsters.
