Happenings in the Tamil Cineworld! About this film: This picture is based on a novel written by "Kamal" about 7 years back. In fact Kamal wanted to film it at that time itself. But the time has come now only. Kamal couldn't spot the correct director in those days. During the shooting of Tenali , Kamal who walked down the memory lance, wanted to take up the subject, "Aalavandhan". Immediately, he sent a word to Suresh Krishna. He narrated the whole story to Suresh Krishna who was made the director for Kamal's pet film instantaneously. As and when Thanu became the producer for the film 'Aalavandhan' has obtained the tag, 'mega' to it. It will be a super-duper mega picture, by all means. 'A child is born amidst struggles. Man has to encounter many struggles all along his life. One has to surmount many hurdles before he reaches the winning post'. |

This is the storyline of this picture. Kamal himself is in charge of the screenplay. Two roles played by Kamal in the film. One in Nandakumar and the other is Vijayakumar. There would be two heroines. They are Raveena Tandon and Manisha Koirala. Kamal has taken the trouble of undergoing the hard commando training at the National Security Guards centre of New Delhi. He wants to impress upon the specialists in the filed with his feats. The graphics would do their wonder for more than 30 minutes in this film. The film, Grant page, would take care of these graphics magic. The man is charge of the stunt scenes is no less a person than Grant page who has set the stunt scenes for Hollywood films, 'Mad Max', 'Nice Guy' and 'M.I.2'. Shankar Mahadevan has already recorded two songs for this picture at Mumbai under the superision of Suresh Krishna. 'Alavandhan' team members won't go to any foreign country for its shootings, it is told. They want to take the whole film in India itself, it seems. Perhaps they want to create a history at world level. Nothing much is known about the actual story of this movie. But it is certain that the story would revolve around the rivalry that exists between two brothers. For the present, we have to be satisfied with this single-line story. Kamal's fans expect this film with all eagerness to be released on the ensuring Pongal day. But it is believed in all circles that the actual release would be around March or April 2001. |
