The film producers are insisting on an unwritten law that discourages the actresses from using their cell phones. As such, when we raise the question on the usage of mobile phones by the actresses, they totally deny their use of cellular phones. They even go to the extent to tell that they are not in possession of cell phones at all! The producers association is wrathful towards the actresses over this.

"We have stipulated such a rule only because of the superior airs put on by those actresses. But they raise their voice of protest during the interviews against our ban on the usage of mobile phones. This is utterly wrong. The actress who does not make a fun fare with a cell phone in her hand is yet to be born. What they say are plain white lies!"

If the accused ones pay heed to the words of wisdom, of the producers, they can escape from their scoldings.

It is along rest and a long wait for Nagma. She was waiting all these days thinking that something would turn up in favour of her. But no opportunity knocked on their doors with a big bang. Nobody offered her a worthwhile chance on a platter. But there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

The picture, 'Dina' has extended a helping hand to her, it seems. She has landed on a chance in that film to dance alongside Ajit in a song sequence. A lone appearance in the whole film! Much water has flowed down the river cooum since her salad days! She sings in that god-sent film opportunity.

(The match stick does not burn unless it brushes against a surface)

She owes her life long gratitude to Ajith for having accorded this welcome break. May be, this brake may well turn into a breakthrough also for opportunities have already started flowing towards her.

It seems she has listened to her younger sister Jyothika's advice. "First, you stage a come back; then you can prove your mettle and grab many more opportunities".

Nagma's approach and activities indicate that she is seriously bent upon scaling many more heights in Tamil films.

Vijayakanth's is put to acid tests. He finds himself in the midst of the animosity between the producers and the performing artists. The onus of the post of the President of the artists' association also weighs him down. He is in a tight corner and the situation is a tense one. But the character donned by him in the movie, 'Vanchinathan', gives him reason to be happy.

The role comes handy to him. He is in his usual vivacious self in the guise of a Police Officer. After all, he is well known to do extraordinarily well with his natural majesty in such a role. The 'Captain' displays his redoubtable talents in the stunt scenes, which are ample in that film. At the shooting spots, he draws spontaneous applause from the members of the film unit as well as his fans. His enviable success as an action hero keeps him in a jubilant frame of mind, against all odds.

Kamal has rejuvenated him. His films are coming fast, one after another. The producers connected with him have grown much lucky, as they are getting the rights of distributing the much sought after films of Kamal in countries abroad.

News is in the air that the price of 'Thenali' has soared up to Rupees Five Crores. So, producer Thanu is biding time to hike the price of his picture, 'Aalavandhan' too. Thanu has set his eyes on getting an equal amount of profit as fetched by 'Daal' through his own 'Aalavandhan' also.

We interrogated Divya Unni on the sets for the film, 'Aandan Adimai', "Have you put a full stop to your Malayam pictures?", Pat came the reply from the parakeet of Kerala, she said nonchalantly, "How can it be? I have five films, right now, there. She is buoyant. A bundle of hopes as she is, she says, "Wait and see. I will take roots in Tamil film industry to make an indelible mark of mine". That she is studying in B.A.(English Literature) is an additional piece of news about her.

"What difference do you find in between Malayalam and Tamil films?". When we shoot this oft-repeated question at her, she easily answers to the point.

"The Malayalam film is a joy for ever. It is a thing of beauty for nature rules over it. But the Tamil film is rich in the deployment of technological skills. Both the films are endearing and enslaving".
