As of now, the role given to
Prakashraj in 'Little John' is the talk of Kodambakkam. What is the specialty in
that
role, one may wonder.
Please look at this picture. Are you not afraid of this face covered by a beard?
Yes, it is only Prakashraj appearing in this frightening guise.
As God Parameswara and Goddess Parvathi are engaged in a duel in the course of
their cosmic dance in the skies, the diamond-studded jewel worn by the Goddess
on her nose falls down. As the nose ring is very powerful precious and
priceless, a Bairagi of great magical powers sets himself in the search for the
goddess's ornament. As Prakashraj has landed the character of that great
magician he has chosen to appear in an altogether different get up. He has taken
laborious pains to score a grand victory in that cumbersome role.
Prakashraj dons the guise of a magician who has lived before Six thousand years.
The producer and the director were taxing their gray and white brain cells in
not being able to arrive at a correct decision regarding the facial make-up and
the attire for the magician. Prakashraj hit upon the right brain wave in this
connection giving the proper food for thought, Prakashraj came in the best
conceivable apparels and make-up that would fit the role of a magician. The
whole unit was taken by surprise at this. They readily gave their approval for
the high sense of involvement exhibited by him. He drew all round applause.
They said Vairamuthu is already over the hill, when A.R.Rehman introduced some
new faces as lyricists for the film, "Thenali". But the very same
persons now well that it is the end for those first-time lyricists, as no song
from 'Thenali' became a hit. Rahman had to tell once in no uncertain terms that
hereafter he would be traversing through the music world only in partnership
with Vairamuthu.
But the fact remains that the lyrical lines penned up for Tenali were really up
to the mark. The lyrics have been hailed as good by many. Therefore, Rahman has
come forward to give some concessions to the beginners in lyrics. It is expected
that he would be offering chances to the small timers in the movies directed by
Vikraman and Kathir, with whom Vairamuthu does not find favour with. This
preference would cause a dent in the chances of Kavignar Vaali, who carries
weight with Vikraman and Kadhir.
Today, this actress's name is, perhaps, uttered most by the filmgoers. This
actress was selected through advertisement in magazines. This 'fond' actress
tried to seize opportunities in many more films even before fulfilling her
commitment to her first film. She has broken the long existing convention. The
matter was taken to the notice of the Association of Artists. So, the actress is
now trying to wreak vengeance through her mother.
The mother of the actress puts on superior airs at the shooting spots. She gets
upset whenever there is a slight decrease in the respect shown to her daughter.
The members of the film crew are subjected to great difficulties due to the
antics of the lady. She is known for her condescending manners whenever she
talks to the people on the sets, except the hero. Her negligent attitude makes
people ill at ease.
A good face is a recommendatory letter. But a good heart is a pot of gold.
The leader of Tamil film actors has spoken at length against the interests of
caste associations. This has given rise to criticisms from the caste
associations. They have started retarding his accusations.
The caste associations' spokesmen cast tirades against actors in general and
Vijayakanth in particular in the meetings held by them, in the following manner:
Vijayakanth talks long as if he is a social worker. Why do actors like him have
associations of fans in their names? We are running our associations to
ventilate the grievances experiences by the members of our caste to the
Government. Our caste men are also a part and parcel of the general public. We
do good to a portion of mankind. But the fans' associations of these actors do
no good to the common cause of people. They create a perfect pandemonium in
theatres at the time of the release of their favorite heroes' films. They sell
tickets in black market.
When actors have their own henchmen and associations of fans with all sorts of
paraphernalia such as flags of their own as if they are some political parties,
why we shouldn't have associations to propagate the interests of our own cast
men? When the actors can compel their hero worshippers to vote for a particular
political party, well, why not we do the same thing?. It would be better if the
artists confine their acting abilities within the arena of films.
