Kaushalya who began her career in Kallam Ellam Kathal Vazhgai  with a bang is the busiest actress today in Tamil cinema. She has so far 7 releases to her credit and two are to be released in the coming month. Though she is busy, her roles have not been memorable say the critics. Why? She answers the queries.

Why are u accepting roles that are inconsequential?
I never accepted a role that offered no scope. It's just that sometimes the directors do not stick to what they say. And this has made me take precautions to see that films are made the way that it's told to me.

After Kallam Ellam Kathal Vazhkai , why did you not do many films?
My first film was a hit no doubt but my bad manager and my stay in Bangalore created the communication gap. Anyway, I did many films in between, but it was Pooveli  with Karthik that got me the acceptance in the industry. This year my hits include Vanathepol  by Vikraman, Asayil Oru Kaditham  with Prasanth, Prabhu Deva's James-Pandu , Rajakali Amman  & Kuberan.

Why did you accept a film with Satyan a raw newcomer in Illayavan  that again was a bad film in all aspects?
I was told that in Illyavan , I am the central character and around whom the film's story will revolve but while shooting I think the director started changing the script and finally bungled it up. You are talking of newcomers, when I did a film with Livingston in Sollamaley everybody asked me the same question and after it became a hit nobody spoke about it. If Illayavan had been a hit then probably I would have been lauded for it.

Have you laid down a rule that you will not wear modern dresses?
I will not wear swimsuits and will not scenes of lip-to-lip kissing. And no other conditions have I laid down. Only in Nerukuner   I wore mod dresses. In fact I am sick of sarees and hope that I get a modern girl role. My personal feeling is that I don't have the body to carry off glamorous dresses.

Your dream role?
Nothing of that sort! But yes, a director could give me an extremely negative role and everybody should hate me for it.

Why are you not cast opposite the top saleable heroes?
The reason is not known but lets see what happens in future.

Your future plans?
(Smiles) I have hardly completed three years and you are asking me as if I have achieved everything. I have a long way to go. I will stay till I get bored with films. I am planning to stick to Tamil films because I am comfortable here. Telugu films want glam dolls and I am not for it.
