Anbudan
His career has been going through a lean phase for the past couple of years. But in recent times Arun Kumar, son of Vijaykumar, has signed quite a few films. One of the recently released films was 'Kannal Pesava' starring Arun Kumar and Suvalakshmy, but it vanished without a trace. Next in line is 'Anbudan' where he is paired with the sizzling Rambha. Playing a crucial role in the film is Meena. Rambha having turned her eyes towards Bollywood has just this film and a couple more in Tamil. 'Anbudan' is the maiden venture of the new production banner Silver Screen Films, and is produced jointly by K.R.Senthil Kumar, R.N. Elango and S. Arunachalam. It is directed by T. Indrakumar, who had earlier directed the film 'Sandhipoma'.
The film's story penned by Murali is based on the premise that love is a feeling that cannot be expressed. That love does not happen at first sight just on seeing someone, nor is it a thought that arises in the heart. "Love in our films always had to cross hurdles like religion, caste and parental opposition. But here none of these are visible. The hurdle is caused by an entirely different factor. It's a love story told differently," says Indrakumar. A song sequence was shot at the Vauhini Studio where the hero has a dream song of visiting the planets with his dream girl Rambha. A huge set with the earth and planets were erected for the shot. And this combined with computer graphics is reportedly one of the highlights of the film.
Arun Kumar plays a college student. At a fashion show in his college he falls in love with Rambha - a girl who had modelled on the ramp. And he fantasizes about her as the story progresses. About 20 dancers participated in the dance sequence along with Rambha and Arun Kumar. K.G.Srinivas canned the shots. While most of the shooting is at Chennai, the unit plans to picturise some of the songs at London, Switzerland, Paris and Ooty. Edited by Annadurai, artwork is by A. Shanmugham and stunt choreography is by Rocky Rajesh. 'Anbudan' introduces a new music director Jai and penning the lyrics is Vijay.
Along with Arun Kumar and Rambha can be seen the supporting cast of Raghuvaran, Rajiv, Charlie, Damu, Vyapuri, Balaji and Fatima Babu.
