'Kadal Pookkal' eludes all since the bygone Deepavali. It has made everyone expectant to the core.

Kadal Pookkal (The flower of sea) would blossom during the month-end with the added strength of having bagged the national award for the best screenplay even before had hit the silver screen.

What is great about the film's story?

The film's story revolves around friendship and love. Murali and Manoj are bosom friends. Each loves his friend's sister. Uma is the Murali and Sindhu is the sister of Manoj. Pradyusha is in unrequited love for Murali. Hers is an one-sided love. The love causes antagonism between the friends. But they sink their differenced in the end. Once and for all, they join their hands together in friendship. Bharathiraja has chiselled the story very well as sculptor would do with his statue. No wonder he has captured the national award.

Bharathiraja himself praised the excellent acting performances delivered both by Murali and Manoj.

There are three heroines - Pradyusha, Uma and Sindhu. Among these three, Uma is the somewhat known to Tamil Filmdom.

Deva is in charge of the film's music. The song 'Aady Meyuthe' can catch the imagination of Common people.

Sivasakthi Pandian has this to tell: At the juncture when both Bharathiraja and myself are in the dire need of dishing out a very successful film, he himself came to me to say that we could join together to create a good film and thereby reestablish ourselves once again as good movie-makers. The film has had created waves in Delhi. We can expect it to do wonders in Tamil Nadu also.
