Roja's indifference to Murali

'Sonnalthaan Kadhala' (T. Rajender, Murali, Roja, Livingston, Mumtaz, Khushbu).

Bank Manager Murali is in love with Roja who works in the bank. But she is indifferent to him, and shows her displeasure when he tries to make small talk to her. Watching all this from the sidelines, Mumtaz (named 'Cinema title Stella' in the film for she uses cinema titles in her conversation) tries to charm him. This scene was shot in Chennai for Sonnalthaan Kadhala, a T. Rajender movie.

Rajender plays a singer T.Rajkumar who has his own music group called 'Kadhal Ragam'. One of the more popular ones in the city, the group's lead singer is Roja. A scene was picturised with Rajender, Murali, Roja and Mumtaz in the ambience of a music hall. About 500 junior artistes were around to make up the audience. The scene had Rajender and Roja singing and the audience applauding the duo. The song was a romantic one 'Sonnalthaan Kadhala…' The song over, Murali jumps on to the stage from the audience and asks Rajender, "Do you believe that love can be expressed only through words?" Rajender quips, "Love is love, whichever way it is expressed!" A heated argument follows between the duo, watched amusedly by the audience. Mumtaz plays Roja's friend. Incidentally Mumtaz was introduced to films by Rajender.

'Jack of all trades' T. Rajender pens the story-screenplay-dialogue, wields the megaphone, cranks the camera, writes the lyrics and sets them to tune. Added to that plays one of the leading roles. The film is a triangular love story that has Murali and Roja teaming with him. A star studded film, it also has Livingston and Rajashri playing yet another romantic pair. Karan is teamed with Swati and there is Khushbu who makes a friendly appearance. Rajashri's sister Bobby makes her debut in the film.

Khushbu plays a muslim neighbour of Rajender's who lives with the memories of her dead lover. Rajender's son Kuralarasan also acts in the film and plays Roja's younger brother. Manivannan, Nambiar, Rajiv, Charlie, Vyapuri, Vadivelu, Murthy, Pandu, Mayilsamy and Kovai Sarala play supporting roles. The film at another level depicts the deep bond shared by a brother and sister, played by Rajender and Swati. Karan plays her husband. He is a cop in the film who has many conflicts with his brother-in-law. The latter bears all insults stoically for his sister's sake. Some crucial scenes were picturised involving the three at Chennai in a Bungalow. Shooting for the film is on at a fast pace and the film is scheduled to be released shortly.
