The elder brother is a classical singer of repute. The younger sibling gets into problems mainly because he takes up arms against anyone who refers to his brother's addiction to the bottle. Circumstances force the younger one to take on the mantle of singer from the older one,  leading to much heartburn and jealousy. The knot is taken from a Malayalam film. But somewhere along the way, the intensity and the emotional impact of the original is lost.

The puerile comedy track of Vivek and group does not help matters either. Kartik yet again proves his calibre, and gives an emotion packed performance. Kalavati as the elder brother's wife leaves an impression. Vasu's is a flat performance. He could have brought in some variation, particularly in the build up to the transformation of sibling love to jealousy. For a musical, just a couple of songs are catchy.
