Pookal for Tamil new years day
Bharathiraja 's Kadal Pookal starring his son Manoj and Murali are to be
released on April 14th,the Tamil new years day. Rathina Kumar, the writer who
teamed up with Bharathiraja for Kizhaku Cheemayile and Karuthamma teams up again
for this film. Screenplay - direction by Bharathiraja the film has
cinematography by B Kannan, music by Deva and lyrics by Vairamuthu.
The film has Prathikshua, Sindhu and Uma as the heroines. Santhana Bharathi,
Vyapuri, Shyam Ganesh are the other artistes.The director promises to bring a
new fare and different from any of the films that centered on the coastal area.

Sivasakthi Pandian turns writer
Sivasakthi movies Pandian, the producer of hit movies Vanmathi, Kathal Kottai,
Kallam Ellam Kathal Vazhkai, Kaanethirey Thondrinal, Kathal Nimmathi and Vetri
Kodi Kattu turns writer with the latest production Aaru Padai Veedu starring
Murali- Devyani in the lead and directed by Lokchander (Asst to Manirathinam).
The film has cinematography by Priyan, music by Deva. Graphics are the highlight
of the film. Filmfare Awards Announced:
The Filmfare Awards were announced on 22nd this month in Mumbai. IN the Tamil
movie category: The Kandu Kondain Kandu Kondain (producer K.S.Dhanu) got
the best movie award and Rajeev Menon got the best director award for the same.
Kamalhassan got the best actor award for his performance in Hey Ram and
Jyotika got the best actress award for her work in Khushi. A.R.Rehamn got
the best music director award for his music in Alai Payuthe.
Kamal's New Heroines: Preity Zinta And Simran
Media dreams the producers of Bharathi, Nilakalam, and Pandavar Bhoomi have
signed Kamalhassan for their maiden entry into Hindi with Shankar as the
director. The film Robo is a hitech film and has Preity Zinta as the
heroine.Simran who has so far not acted in Kamalhassan's or Rajanikanth's movie
and under Maniratrathinam direction has realised her dream.
She is acting opposite Kamalhassan in a film Pammal Sabatham directed by Mouli..
Yet another person who is thrilled is Abbas who has also been signed for this
film. He has already acted opposite Rajanikanth in Padaiappa.
Sneha Is Busy
Sneha, the heroine of Prasanth's film Virumbikarean is not giving dates
to complete the film because she is busy with K Balchander's 100th film Parthalay
Parvasham and has signed Telugu films in which she is paid more. "The
debut Tamil film is now no more in her priority list," say the producer
Francis and director Susi Ganesan .
Kamal-Simran To Be Launched On 2nd
Pammal K Sabatham, the Kamalhaassan- Simran starrer directed by Mouli and
produced by Media dreams is to be launched in Chennai on April 2. Simran plays a
doctor in the film and Kamal is a holy man with tilak, vibhuti smeared on his
head. Abbas and Devyani play the second lead. Music by Deva, and camera by
Saravanan are the other features of the movie.
Alvanthaan Goes Alps
The 140 unit members of Alvanthaan (Kamalhassan starrer) were ready to
take off for Kashmir for shooting the climax. But the military authorities
refused permission to shoot. Immediately producer Thanu booked the tickets for
Swiss Alps. Now Alps will become Kashmir.
