Thaalikaatha Kaliamman - On the floors

Not very fussy about the banner, director or story, Prabhu has quite a few films in his kit these days. The new one on the floor is where Prabhu is paired with Kausalya. Also in the cast are Pandiarajan, Bhanupriya, Sanghavi, Manivannan, Manorama, Rajan P. Dev, Mansurallikhan, Alex, V.A. Murthy, Vijayalakshmi, Jyotilakshmi, Indu, Delapathi Dinesh, Suryakant and Ravi. Bhanupriya plays the Goddess.

The film is directed by R. Somasunder who has also penned the story and the screenplay. Somasunder has earlier wielded the megaphone for films like 'Engal Kula Deivam', 'Uyir', and 'Amman Koil Thiruvizha'. The dialogue is written by Kalaimani. Sirpi sets the tune to lyrics written by Kalidasan, Pazhnibharathi, Kalaikumar, Vijay and Ravishanker. Editing is by K.R. Ramalingam, work by Kalai, and stunt choreography by Dalapathy Dinesh. A shooting stint took place at 'Rekha House', Saidapet, where a scene was picturised on Prabhu, Kousalya, Sanghavi and Manivannan. Yet another scene was shot on Prabhu, Kousalya, Manorama and Mansuralikhan, Kousalya plays Karpagam an orphan and heiress to a large fortune. Manorama plays her grandmother.

Prabhu as reporter

Mansuralikhan is Kalimuthu who has an eye on the fortune. Prabhu is a newspaper reporter who comes there to probe the mysterious goings on in the village. When he sees the rowdy harassing the girl, he saves her. A stunt scene was also picturised on Prabhu fighting with the villain and his henchmen.

Silukku singari

A scene of a temple festival was also shot where Jyotilakshmi played 'Silukku singari' and danced a sizzling number. A bomb suddenly explodes, the crowd scatters and Prabhu and Pandiarajan (playing Chandrabose and Pandin respectively) find themselves pulled away by some rough hands. And it's time for another fight scene. Nivas canned the shots. The film's audiocassette of the songs was released at a function held at the Andhra Club. Hero Satyaraj handed over the first cassette to Film Chamber president K.R.

Appealing to all

Director Somasunder claims that the film will have humour, sentiment and computer graphics of a different kind, and will appeal to all classes. The film is produced by Sriyadav of Sunder Theatres, producers of such films as 'Ulavali', and 'Pass Mark'.
