'Enna Vilai Azhagae' - Love in 2000
Prashant and Amisha Patel (of 'Kaho Na Pyar Hai' fame) team together in a Tamil film titled Enna Vilai Azhagae. The film is written and directed by Raj Kapoor. After completing a shooting stint at the AVM Studios Chennai, the unit left for a shooting schedule to Paris where a song was pictured on the lead pair.
The story
Prashant plays a successful maker of advertising films who earns a name by making offbeat commercials. Amisha plays a model with whom he falls in love. There was a scene shot on Prashant who plays Jeeva and Amisha who is Divya in the film. Jeeva is an animal lover and when he visits a dog show he buys a puppy he sees there. Enters Divya who claims the puppy was hers. Since she had seen it first and was just about to pay for it. Jeeva replies that he would have given it to her gladly, had he "felt" any of the "four" feelings for her. "What four feelings?" asks a puzzled Divya. "Love, Lust, Friendship or Infatuation" says Jeeva. "If I had felt any of these feelings for you, I would have given the puppy to you. Since I don't, the puppy stays with me". Feeling insulted, Divya vows that she would make him fall in love with her. The scene was directed by Raj Kapoor, while cinematographer Ravi Varma canned the shots.
The invitation
Yet another scene was shot at actor Vijaykumar's palatial Bungalow in Chennai. Jeeva and Divya now share a close friendship. Seeing Jeeva suffering from stress and work-tension, Divya invites him to stay at her place for a couple of days.
When he arrives he sees a strange sight. Carloads of people arrive. They switch off their mobiles, enter the house, cut off the telephone lines and switch off the TV. They wear rustic clothes and the huge lawns are seen decorated with mud pots, giving the whole place a rural ambience. Seeing Jeeva's puzzled look, Divya explains the whole scenario to him. "They are my relatives. All top business magnets. But each week end they come here to forget all their worries and spend a tension free time". And, Jeeva sees a new side of life.
Pappa-Mummy quarrel
There was a scene shot on Prashant, Raghuvaran and Sarita, the duo playing Prashant's parents. It was of Prashant trying to tell his parents about his love for Divya. But seeing his parents quarrelling, he decides he would tell them when they had reconciled their differences.
This is the second film after 'Friends', for which actress Sarita is donning the grease paint. Others in the cast include, Manivannan, Ranjit, Vijayakumar, S.V.Shekar, Vadivelu, Nasser, Vivek, Vennira Aadai Nirmala, Kovai Sarala, Sabita Anand and Chandrasekar.
While Lenin-Vijayan edit the film, Raju Sundaram choreographs. Deva sets to tune the lyrics written by Vairamuthu. The film is produced by H.V.Apparao for Srivijay Mathruga Combines. The banner had earlier produced the Ajit-Simran starrer 'Aval Varuvaalaa.'
