You will remember the film 'Magalir Mattum' . But the film had menfold also in the cast. Snehithiye is out and out a women only picture. All the cast is female.

The story deals with the happenings in a ladies' hostel. The film focuses on 'Ragging', 'Eve teasing' etc. Director Priyadarshan says, "Inspired by the success of the song 'Snehithane' in Alai Payuthe, the title of this film was decided as 'Snehithiye'.

Shabrani, the younger sister of Rani Mukarjee gets introduced in this film. Vidyasagar who is known to give superhits whenever he steps into Tamil film world has produced some fine songs for this film.

This film ought to have been released some twenty five days back. But the high price quoted by the producer with the participation of Jothika in mind was not met with.

Whether the Jothika factor would bring luck to the producer? Time alone should say.
