Vika
Differs With Dhika
Radhika Chowdry used to stays along with Malavika in her Chetpet house, as a
paying guest. Initially Radhika's company, had been a welcome relief to
Malavika's solitude. Now it has created a fresh problem, it seems. Phone calls
have started pouring in after the arrival of Radhika.
As Radhika has many boy friends, so many male voices enquire for her. This has
caused irritation to Malavika. She has told it point blank to Radhika.
"Don't give them my house number. You may give your cell number to
them!" Chowdry took offence of what Malavika said and decided to stay again
in the hotel itself. Malavika wonders: "Will this girl make me her
touch-up artiste?"
While
other offspring of big actors have made their marks in Tamil film industry.
Arunkumar, son of Vijayakumar is still struggling to establish his stature. His
pictures Murai Mappillai, Priyam, Thullithirindha Kaalam, Kannal pesava all have
conspired against his interests. They have bombed at the box-office! Kollywood
cuts a joke at his expense. "May be, he will also make his grade only in
his advanced age. Like father like son!"
But Arunkumar is confident. He is bubbling with enthusiasm. "As of now, I
am acting in a film entitled "Buddhan." You can very well treat it as
my very first movie. What was "Nayagan" to Kamal, "Buddhan"
would be for me. I play a completely different character in that film".
What would be message of that movie? One can, at once, see Hitler's gun,
Vivekananda's wisdom and Buddha's saffron robes in me. Then you can imagine what
would be the character of the role!" Puzzles Arunkumar following the
style of 'Crorepathi' programme. Ajith appears shaven-headed, at one side,
for 'citizen'. Vikram looks bare headed for Samrat, at another side. Sarathkumar
loses hair for 'Rishi'. And now Arunkumar joins the party for 'Buddhan'. Today,
kollywood sees many yul brynners. Perhaps, it is the season for Shaven-headed
heroes!
Vijayakanth
has approached Ajith, to allow Shalini to act for a week, in the film "Piriyatha
Varam Vendum". The conversation between them has created a friction.
It seems Ajith has asked pungently whether Vijayakanth will allow his wife to
act in a film for one week?
The senior actor has retarded sharply. But, I have not married an actress as you
have done!"
He asks his dear and near ones: "Whether this lad can shelve the pictures
in which Shalini has already acted? How can I nullify the intimate love scenes
she has enacted?
Revathi
has made allegations against Prashanth during the proceedings of the actor's
association. She has accused that Prashanth and his father Thyagarajan have
belittled the community of actresses as a whole. The office bearers of the
association were taken aback. This seemed to be a new bombshell.
During the cultural programmes conducted in foreign countries almost all the
top-ranking actresses of Tamil film industry dance around Prashanth. The way in
which they dance with him and the poses they strike with him are highly
distasteful. The authorities of the association should warn Prashanth. This was
the plea made by her to Vijayakumar and Sarathkumar.
Paying head to her with all patience, Sarathkumar coolly replied to her:
"It's matter of shame for these actresses who overstep willingness.
Everyone has the right to safeguard her interests. One has to protect them self
against all odds!" Revathi became silent.
One
can call Kausalya is a radical. It seems she has no belief in sentiments what so
ever. She vouchsafes that she cares little for pujas, prayers, omens and
'inauspicious' timings such as Rahu Kalam and Yamakandam. She
disowns all sorts of Superstitions. She is proud of her self-confidence. But she
repeatedly stays particular room number 106 in the Maurya hotel of Chennai. Why
such a performance to that particular room? Any sentiment with numerology?
"No" she says, "Room number 106 has become my second home.
Even if I stay in the very next room to it, I get the feeling of staying in my
neighbor's house. This is just like a sentiment of a daughter towards her
mother!"
